BIG? NOT YET

B?NY | #009 | for those what-can-I-listen-to-now moments

Our newsletters were not meant to become a confinement initiative. Still, it seems they’ve played a small part on your isolation soundtracks. We’ve received several appreciation comments telling us that on a what-can-I-listen-to-now moment the B?NY playlists become the answer. That’s been really uplifting, you rock. Thanks a bunch 💚

So, once again, a new newsletter means new sounds for your ears. This time a bit of jazz, indie, synth sounds and much more. Let us know what you think!

Nubiyan Twist (UK)

Nubiyan’s Twist ensemble emerges from diverse backgrounds, with a formation that varies from tour to tour, including female artists collaborations such as Cherise or Ruby Wood, who appear on "Portraits". Influenced by the prominent British jazz scene and youth club culture, they are masters of breaking genre boundaries bringing a powerful result that doesn’t stick to the classical standards at all.

Mark Whalen (USA)

Sensual and groovy. A soundtrack that'll make you dream of having your feet in the water as the tide moves gently up and you think of a laid-back summer love story. But when it hits, it hits wildly to the hips! With a smooth guitar-weeping that resembles DeMarco’s earlier albums, Mark Whalen and the Buttermilk Boys’s indie rock is on the BIG? NOT YET spotlight.

Lucca Bocci's lyrics are catchy and have immediate messages. Intimate pop ballads that talk about life possibilities, choices and just pure thoughts. Cassowary (USA)

A cassowary is a flightless and cautious bird whose roots arise from a very unique combination. Something very similar occurs to Miles Shannon in his music project, named after this bird species. This LA-based artist merges genres such as jazz, funk or soul in a multi-intstrumental paradise. For the likes of Thundercat or Steve Lacy, go explore it!

Le Nais (Spain)

A talented woman not only in the music scene but also in the jewelry space and the entrepreneurial world. Le Nais is able to create an intimate and nostalgic atmosphere, with acoustic sounds and some of the most strange noises you can imagine. Most of her songs are a combination of her authenticity and spontaneus thoughts, turned into poems that emerge from her daily life.
