BIG? NOT YET

B?NY | #005 | a fresh newsletter edition just blossomed in your inbox

Spring tends to be a beautiful period to visit Japan, due to the beautiful cherry blossom viewing season. The current situation of global pandemic made it tricky this year for both locals and visitors to enjoy this important event of the Japanese tradition, but we gotta be optimistic: trees will blossom again next year. We hope you enjoy "mitsume", a band from Tokyo, along with the other five amazing artists we included in this edition.

mitsume (Japan)

“エスパー” translates into an extrasensory perception based on intuition and telepathy, and if, as it has long been said, the medium is the message, admiring the Tokyo band is not a matter of language but mostly about intentions. It is also one of the purest songs of mitsume, the kings of dreamy intentions. Considered one of the most reliable indie bands from Tokyo, their sounds are just like soft air coming in, but their live is both energic and playful.

Matilda Mann (UK)

The young Matilda Mann was raised soaking up all the classics from the Beatles to Joni Mitchell or Neil Young. With just one EP, it looks like she has found her creative path: original songs taken from conversations with friends, or overheard during tube rides and working hours in a pub, combined with her captivating voice and a guitar. If you feel like it's time for some acoustic folk, give her a listen!
